The carbamide content ensures that the cream has a keratolytic (dissolving) effect on scaly, rough and thickened skin. Many carbamide creams contain 10% carbamide, which can lead to skin irritations, therefore the carbamide content is not higher than 7.5%, as you achieve the same keratolytic effect with 7.5% carbamide as with 10%, but with a lower risk of skin irritations.
