In celebration of their 160th anniversary, German watch manufacturer Junghans have launched the Form A 160 Limited Edition watch. The design not only celebrates the past, and its founder Erhard Junghans, but it looks towards the future with a minimalistic and contemporary aesthetic inspired by their home, the Black Forest. The bowl-shaped matte black dial demands attention with contrasting brown printing on the 12 and 6 o’clock hour markers and on the hands for hours and minutes. The hour markings from 1 to 5 o’clock and 7 to 11 o’clock are treated to a beige environmentally friendly luminous substance, just like that of the central hands. To pair with the dial, the Junghans Form A 160 Edition watch is fitted with a unique brown leather strap detailed with a texture designed to look like the bark of a tree. The strap secures the 39. 3 millimetre case to the wrist with the help of the black matte PVD buckle adorned with a “Bollenhut image, a hat topped with pom-poms that has been part of the traditional costume worn by women in the Black Forest. The case of the Junghans Form A watch matches the buckle similarly engineered from stainless steel with a black matte coating and is equipped with a four-times screwed case back with Black Forest motif printing and flat sapphire crystal glass treated with ultra-legible anti-reflective coating on one side. Behind the 50 metre water resistant backing is the J800. 2 automatic winding movement which guarantees a power reserve of 38 hours.
