Samburu Lady is one in a series of incredible photographic images taken by Mario Gerth on his travels through Africa & India where he visited many of the indigenous tribes staying with families along the way exploring their rituals, culture and individual personalities. I love the simplicity and balnce in this portrait , the beautiful tones coming from the swathes of her robe seem to reflect her inner calmness and gentle character. The necklace tiers perhaps show her status.
