
1970\'s Alice Caviness Faux Pearl Earrings
The Designer The jewellery business for Alice Caviness began shortly after the second world war when the former glove model set up her costume jewellery business in Long Island before moving to New York city. She initially imported from post-war Germany with the use of filigree and dramatic rhinestones soon becoming the recognisable trademark of her designs often 12k gold plated. Caviness was responsible for the creation of many of her designs, but she also enlisted the talent of Millie Petronzio up to 1982. Petronzio ten went o to become head designer for Miriam Haskell. Alice Caviness jewellery once sold in high end boutiques are now scare and sought after by the collectors of today.
