When I travelled in Nepal back in the 1980s I bought a pair from a village silversmith and I still wear these today. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear, each earring has a simple hinged clasp to keep it secure but also easy to remove. These earrings are handcrafted in Nepal by skilled silversmiths. Here is his reply: \'The Nepalese silver hoops are made from Nepalese silver which sometimes has a higher silver content than most commercial silver (normal earring silver is marked 925 - i.e 92.5% silver) So, being Nepal, sometimes we get silver with a 925 stamp - and sometimes without it. Our supplier has been working with us for many many years so we know and trust that the silver is at least 92.5% silver.
