Velo Flor is a Manzanilla that has been aged for 9-10 years, which is a lot longer than most. This brings about a wine with Manzanilla freshness combined to the richness and complexity of Amontillado, with a golden colour and intense aromas of cider apple, butterscotch, blanched almond and salted caramel. In the mouth, it has a rich, rounded smoothness, with the fragrance of golden apples being cellared over the winter, and a slightly gamey, charcuterie element. Long, silky and lovely, with much more complexity and concentration than normally found in this type of wine. Bodegas Alonso is the passion project of the Asencio family to rescue some of Sanlucar\'s greatest soleras: Fernando Mendez, Gaspar Florido and Pedro Romero.
