These bioactive compounds not only make the colour of the berry but are also responsible for many of its beneficial effects. By consuming cranberries, its bioactive compounds are extracted in the urine. Studies have shown that cranberry PACs inhibit the attachment of certain unwanted bacteria in their environment. Cranberry Strong Natural Defence contains concentrated cranberry extract and is standardized for a high amount of bioactive cranberry PACs, 72 mg in a daily dose. The capsules also contain vitamin C that supports the body’s own immune system. Lactic acid bacteria play an important role in the intimate area Lactic acid bacteria belong to the normal microbiota in the intimate area. The amount of these bacteria can be increased by taking lactic acid bacteria as food supplement, as the bacteria naturally migrate from the intestines to the intimate area. If the natural microbiota in the intimate area is in balance, there are limited opportunities for unwanted bacteria to grow. Cranberry Strong Natural Defence contains a selection of four different lactic bacterial strains that are typical to the microbiota in the intimate area (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium longum). The bacteria have been protected from the stomach acidity by a special technology, which ensures the survival and good viability of the bacteria when passing through the gastro-intestinal tract.
