Last Friday they left Madrid by train headed for Salamanca. After resting three hours in Salamanca waiting for the snow to stop, they continued their route and made their way by a magnificent road that was converted into a river. They arrived in Avila at quarter past six p.m. On Saturday at eight o\'clock during the bitter cold they left the capital, among snow and a strong headwind they made it to San Rafael. They climbed the mountain with half a meter of snow, in the mountain pass of León they were surprised by a strong blizzard that completely soaked them. They already had to get dry for the fifth or sixth time that day. In 1895 on May the 12th the race took place. This book is the story of that adventure.
