The Oval 8 Finger Splint is nearly invisible and exceptionally strong; its main function is to align and stabilise the PIP or DIP joint to improve the individual\'s hand function.The splint can be used for supporting mallet finger injury, helping to prevent trigger finger, correcting lateral deviation, swan-neck deformity and flexible boutonniere deformity. It has been moulded from 1.6 mm translucent plastic without any seams and can be modified by spot heating using a heat gun. Each splint will fit a full size and when rotated 180 degrees, an additional half size, which then can accommodate for fluctuations in oedema and temperature that can affect finger size. For full immobilisation, two Oval 8 Finger Splints can be used at the DIP or PIP for rest and control.
