A clematis that originated from Nepal and parts of southern China. It loses all its foliage in late spring, early summer and is dormant throughout the hottest months of the year. Late autumn it will grow new foliage, followed by clusters of flowers in early winter. The flowers are scented and look like greeny-yellow bells with attractive red-purple stamens. After the flowers fade, fluffy seed heads develop and can last for several months. Perfect for a courtyard garden or cool conservatory, where it will create interest in the darkest months of the year.
