Heuchera sanguinea has mid green foliage, attractively marbled with silvery grey. Unlike other Heucheras, whose insignificant flowers are immediately removed, it is grown especially for its airy sprays of tiny deep red flowers in early summer.Flowering even in shade, it makes an excellent plant for north or east facing borders and provides invaluable groundcover in difficult spots beneath trees, shrubs and roses where the ground is dry and rooty. Heuchera easily shake off these conditions, smothering the ground and supressing emergent weed seedlings. Their palmate leaves associate well with contrasting fine textured foliage such as Carex ‘Everillo’. Height: 40cm (16”).
