This hydrangea produces blooms up to 12cm across in a variety of colours from pink to blue depending on the pH level of the soil it is growing in. Its beautiful dark green leaves with its red petioles and veins make this plant a head turner even before the flowers bloom. Flowers change colour as they age - creating a multi-coloured effect! Flowers June-October. Bloomstar will eventually reach a height of about 90-120cm and 120-150cm wide. They grow well in full sun and partial shade, also better in beds and borders. The flowers on traditional hydrangeas often just don?t last long enough. But this range flowers on both old and new wood, often flowering before other varieties start and, in favourable conditions, continuing for many months after. Ideal for people who accidentally prune their plants at the wrong time, and in areas where the frost may damage the flower buds . . . these plants will still bloom!
