This Japanese Barberry is tall and slim, and perfect for contributing colour and architecture to borders. The Berberis Thunbergii Helmond Pillar is mainly grown for its deep purple foliage, making a wonderful backdrop for the small yellow flowers in Spring. During Autumn, its deciduous leaves change to gorgeous shades of red, and once they fall; present prickly purple stems. Japanese Barberry plants are brilliantly resilient, and grow on the majority of soil types, except waterlogged.
