Dr Finlay (Bill Simpson) works as a junior partner in the local village medical practice, in a town full of gossip and patients with a variety of ailments. He works for the slightly stern and stuffy Dr Cameron (Andrew Cruickshank), with whom he frequently disagrees on the best treatment for his patients. Cameron favours traditional methods of medicine, and clashes with Finlay\'s preference to try new techniques. Their unflappable and reliable housekeeper and receptionist Janet (Barbara Mullen) is sure to keep them in check.
