The Third Reich plan to loot ancient treasures on an island off the coast of Greece; leading the search is Austrian commandant Major Otto Hecht (Roger Moore). Resistance to German occupation, however, is growing. Zeno (Telly Savalas), the island\'s resistance leader and Elena (Claudia Cardinale) scheme to defeat the occupiers, leading a disparate band of freedom fighters to prevent the Nazis from looting their heritage.
