In the early 1930s, Jimmy Dorsey was the star of the great Ted Lewis Band. He then went on to greatness with his brother Tommy Dorsey. Both led successful big bands. Both had smaller Dixieland bands and it is here that Jimmy Dorsey excelled over his brother. Jimmy Dorsey\'s Dorseyland Jazz Band was one of the hottest little Dixieland Jazz Bands ever assembled.This consists CD of two sessions from New York\'s Hotel Stadler in 1950, with Charlie Teagarden providing an object lesson in hot dixieland trumpet and the immaculate Cutty Cutshall filling the trombone chair on one session.
