The end of the Mexican-American War saw the start of a bloody and murderous period in the Old West as people sort to claim large pieces of land to ensure their future. In a lawless territory ex-army officer Angus McKane (Jim Davis) and his posse of henchmen including Daman Pardee (Lee Van Cleef) lay claim to a vast region of California, their ownership of which is now being questioned.
