A lawyer is questioned at the police station to sort out a few loose ends in his witness report of a foul murder. Harry Hearst is a wealthy and well-respected lawyer who finds one of the bodies and is subsequently requested by police chief Victor Benezet to aid with his enquiries. However, Hearst soon finds himself being given the third degree by Detective Owen who beats him down over his private life and specifically about his relationship with his young and very attractive wife Chantal, who is almost thirty years younger. Quickly a lot of surprising discoveries conspire to make Hearst the key suspect in the murder case.
