Liar is the ITV crime drama series that has gripped audiences, created by Harry and Jack Williams the writers of the hit BBC series The Missing . The 6-part thriller tells the riveting story of high school teacher Laura (Joanne Froggatt) and highly respected surgeon, Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd), the handsome and charming father of one of her pupils, and colleague of her sister, Katy (Zoe Tapper) who set the pair up. The date takes them back to Laura s flat, but what happens next is what has split the nation and drives the narrative of the series. The two wake up the next morning with two conflicting versions of how the night ended; Andrew believes they had an amazing night ending with consensual sex, but Laura is convinced the events took a much darker turn, accusing him of rape. Both characters are equally as convincing, the writers continually meddling with our minds and opinion of what happened. Is anybody telling the truth? The series has a great cast of well-known actors including Warren Brown (Luther, Shameless), Shelley Conn (Mistresses, Terra Nova) and Richie Campbell (Waterloo Road, The Bill).
