As a regular at the notorious Moulin Rouge nightclub, where he sought solace in cognac and the the dancers, Lautrec is asked by the club owner to create a promotional poster to attract members from high society. The deformed painter’s attempts at finding love continue to fail and he starts drinking heavily. Ill-health affects him his art begins to gain recognition.
