A German pastry maker travels to Jerusalem in search for the wife and son of his dead lover. Thomas, a shy young and talented German baker, falls in love with Oren, a married Israeli businessman who makes frequent business trips to Berlin. When Oren dies in a car crash in Israel, a heartbroken Thomas travels to Jerusalem seeking answers regarding his death. Keeping his secret to himself, Thomas meets Anat, Oren’s bereft widow, who owns a small café in downtown Jerusalem. He infiltrates into her life, and starts to work for her baking German specialities. Although not fully kosher and despised by the religious, his delicious cakes turn the place into a city attraction.
