Punch. Volume LXXX. No.80 (1881)
\'Punch, or The London Charivari\' was a British weekly magazine of humour and satire established in 1841 by Henry Mayhew and wood-engraver Ebenezer Landells. Most influential in 1840s/50s when it helped to coin the term \"cartoon\" in its modern sense as a humorous illustration.  Used: embossed design to covers and spine title, cloth over board.  Covers marked and discoloured by fade, spine a tan colour; gilt title still visible.  Gilt Mr. Punch on front cover in good health.  Spine fraying top and bottom, split from front cover at the bottom.  Binding strong, pages intact, some foxing.
