Published by R & A Suttaby in 1878 the complete updated works of Longfellow  with accompanying  illustrations by Payne Jennings.  Dark green  boards with gilt rules. 6 bands to spine with gilt lettering. Some bumping to corners. Bright gilt to all three edges.  Book appears to have been water-damaged in parts, hence,  staining to front endpapers and title page. Similar staining on rear boards and the last 6 pages.  Text block tight. Very minor foxing visible. Text clear with well preserved sepia photographs.  Original photographs tipped in, including a photograph  of Longfellow. 600pp.
