The chip combines a normal 2700k portion and another that rates at 2300k and it is this portion that takes over as the lamp is dimmed, mixing in with the 2700k part of the chip, keeping the light output a comforting and relaxing warm white; allowing you to create that perfect light level for chilled evenings or just because sometimes, full brightness is too much.
