When Storm Thorgerson was approached in 1996 and commissioned to advertise the back catalogue for Pink Floyd\'s albums this perhaps wasn\'t what originally sprung to mind! Thorgerson was quoted saying that \"there\'s an incredible sense of humour in the Floyd camp and they decided that the back catalogue should be literally \'the catalogue on the backs\". Originally this idea was intended to feature on a TV commercial as well but EMI decided that they liked the piece and commissioned Thorgerson to photograph it for a promotional poster.
