Stunning candle lanterns made from recycled iron and glass, these colourful lanterns have been hand made in India on a Fair Trade basis. The lanterns have alternating glass panels, half are smooth glass, and half have an embossed pattern, which creates beautiful effects when used with candlelight. They are just as beautiful in the daytime too, because of the rich and vibrant colours of the glass, they appear to illuminate in the sunshine, like stained glass church windows. Use with a tealight to create beautiful light effects for evenings indoors our out. The lanterns include a useful carry handle, so can be hung as well as floor or table standing. If you order more than one lantern we will try to send a mix of colours, as these lanterns look best when mixed with different colours or sizes of lanterns. This product has been made on a Fair Trade basis. Our supplier has a strong ethical policy and aims to buy from small scale producers who use mostly natural materials and traditional techniques to produce beautiful and unique pieces. Their belief is that the best way to help disadvantaged producers is to work in partnership with them through mutually beneficial long term trade. All producers are paid fairly for their skills to help them become financially independent and stronger.
