Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable Watercolour Brush (6)
The Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable Water Colour Brush is often called the world’s finest watercolour brush, and this is no idle boast. It was originally created for Queen Victoria, whose choice of a size 7 inspired the name, but there’s more to it than royal connections. It’s made from the finest taper-dressed pure Kolinsky red sable hair, its nickel-plated ferrules are seamless and rustproof, its handles are perfectly balanced and polished to a sheen, and it’s assembled by hand. In performance, you’ll find that the brush has just the right spring and snap-back to give you control, that the point stays in place and that its large belly gives it excellent colour-carrying capacity. By any standards, royal or otherwise, the Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable Watercolour Brush is exceptional. These brushes have a short-handle and only the larger sizes come in a box.
