Artisan water mixable oil colour uses a special thinner for the range. Artisan was developed to avoid the use of hazardous solvents. Although water can be used as a diluent for the colours, its speedy evaptoration can make the colour thicken upon the palette much quicker than the conventional oil colour would when used with turpentine. To help with this, a special thinner has been developed which maintains the an oily feel, improves the quality of the finished work and keeps colour open for longer than water.
