In many aspects 7 Wonders Duel is similar to its parent game, 7 Wonders, in that players collect cards that offer resources or enhance their military or scientific growth in order to build a civilization and complete wonders over the course of three ages. What makes 7 Wonders Duel unique is that, as the name implies, the game is only for two players, with the players drawing cards from a display of face-down and face-up cards placed at the start of each round rather than from hands of cards. A player can only take a card if no other cards are covering it, so timing is important, as are bonus moves that allow you to take a second card right away. Each card you obtain can be created, discarded for cash, or used to construct a wonder, just like in the original game. Each player begins with four wonder cards, each of which grants its owner a specific ability when built. However, because only seven wonders can be built, one player will be left out. Players can buy resources from the bank at any moment, or they can obtain cards throughout the game that give them with resources for future construction; as you gather resources, the cost of those resources grows for your opponent, indicating your supremacy in this area. A player can win 7 Wonders Duel in one of three ways: each time you acquire a military card, you advance the military marker toward your opponent\\\'s capital, giving you bonuses at certain positions; if you reach the opponent\\\'s capital, you win the game straight away; similarly, if you acquire any six of the seven different symbols, you achieve scientific dominance and win straight away; if none of these situations occurs, the player with the most points wins the game.
