Icarus Longboard Deck
According to Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of a master craftsman, Daedalus, who built labyrinths for the King to imprison the Minotaur. Daedalus also became imprisoned by the King and to escape, he built wings using wax and feathers so he and Icarus could fly to freedom. Only Icarus didn\'t heed his fathers warning to not fly too close to the waves or too close to the sun and captivated by the thrill of flight he soared too high until the heat from the sun melted the wax in his wings causing him to fall into the sea. The moral of the story? Get better wings! Based around the popular shapes of the Dervish and Tan Tien decks, the Icarus strikes a balance between stability and manoeuvrability by combining straight rails along the standing platform for a stable and firm ride with full cut-outs at the tips to allow deep turns without the wheelbite.
