Tubular bandages, commonly known as Tubigrip, are one of the most commonly used bandages in hospital and medical practice the world over. These bandages are effectively an elasticated cotton sleeve of varying diameters depending on the size of the limb being treated. Sized correctly, the tubular bandage will provide compression and warmth in soft tissue injuries. In the PRICE protocols for sports injuries simple compression is most commonly achieved by the use of a tubular bandage over the injured area, while a greater degree of controlled compression may be achieved using an elastic adhesive bandage or cohesive tape.
