This eleven day tour begins in Sibiu, the \"capital\" of Transylvania. As we embark on our road trip throughout Transylvania we will visit a fairy-tale castle, several fortified and wooden churches, immerse ourselves in a rural Roma (gypsy) village, spend two nights in the rural north Maramures region of Romania visiting the unusual Merry Cemetery and also a communist prison, several UNESCO World Heritage sites, and walking tours. Each night\'s lodging is in a quaint city centre boutique hotel or a rustic rural inn.  We\'ll take a first-class night train (which you will love or hate!) to Bucharest, Romania\'s capital. Our final full day we travel by subway and bus to learn about the Ruth School in the Ferentari neighborhood. The afternoon is free to explore Bucharest - making it a memorable day. Our closing meal at this historic Hanu Lui Manuc, which has been welcoming foreign guests and the Romanian elite since 1808, will bring our tour to a close. Have final night in Old Town
