When large enough transplant 5cm (2in) apart in trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions, then transplant 15cm (6in) apart in flowering position from summer onwards. Outdoor sowing: April-June, sow thinly in a prepared seed bed, in rows 20cm (8in) apart. Cover with 1.5cm (half inch) of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. When large enough thin to 10cm (4in) apart. Transplant 15cm (6in) apart in flowering position from September. Flowers from February to November.
