Refurbish your house doors with our Victorian scroll latch kit. The polished brass finish door handles, latch and hinges will give a sophisticated look to your house. The door latch handles are suitable for use with latches or internal locks that don\'t have keyhole access. They are ideal for use on your internal house doors that don\'t need locking or security features. This product comes with internal fitting accessories. This pack furnishes one door and contains two handles, one tube latch, two butt hinges 75mm, spindle bar and screws. To install, for fitting hinges, mark hinge position on the door, then use a sharp chisel to score marked edges of the hinge, then pare to the depth of hinge. Once hinges have been fitted to the door, repeat marking and paring on the door frame. Next, hang your door using a wedge to support it at the required height. Once satisfied with the door functions correctly, you can proceed with other fittings. For fitting a tubular latch, locate the door centre and drill a 22mm (7/8\") hole to the depth required. Insert tubular latch, mark position of the faceplate and pare to the depth required. Offer tubular latch to door and mark position of the moving cam. With latch removed, drill 16mm (5/8\") hole for spindle bar, and finally, insert latch to door and secure in position with wood screws. We recommend you leave a 3mm gap between the door edge and frame to allow for the natural expansion of timber. For fitting latch handles, place the square spindle bar through the tubular latch, then affix one handle to one side of the door. Ensure the spindle bar is fully pushed back into the handle and that it protrudes at least 12.5mm (1/2\") on the other side to give adequate leverage. Place the other handle over the spindle bar and repeat fixing. It may be necessary to countersink the base of the handle stem to ensure a flush fit. Always drill full-length pilot holes and avoid using power screwdrivers as manual screwdrivers allow more control and are likely to damage fittings during installation. Thoroughly lubricate all moving parts on the back of the handle before final fixing. Care and use: Our handles have a durable hardened finish. Regular cleaning with moist chamois leather or dusting with a soft cloth is the only maintenance required.
