Add these lovely Johnsons Seeds Dahlia Mignon to your garden. Simple, pollen and nectar rich flowers on compact plants, loved by bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. Usually grown as an annual. Indoor sowing February to April, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, cover with 0.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20˚C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days. Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant singly into 7.5cm pots. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Transplant 25cm apart in flowering position. Keep moist and weed free. Flowers July to October, the same year. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering.
