A popular choice for the back of borders, the Johnsons Seeds Delphinium Avalon is sure to be a charming addition to your backyard. Features classical spires of light to dark, each with a white ‘heart’ or ‘bee’. Indoor sowing February to May, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-18˚C. Seedlings appear 21-42 days. Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant singly to 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise to outside conditions. Transplant 45cm apart in flowering position in autumn. Flowers June to August, the following year. Outdoor sowing May to July, in a prepared seed bed. Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Transplant 45cm apart in flowering position in autumn. Flowers June to August, the following year. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
