The fast growing Johnsons Grass Festuca Glauca Seeds will soon transform into neat cushions of fine blue-green leaves topped by upright flowering heads. A hardy perennial with blue-green leaves, it turns a beautifully contrasting straw-gold as they mature. This eye-catching ornamental grass is perfect for edging for borders and as contrasting dot plant. Indoor sowing: February to May, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, do not cover seed with compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 20-25˚C. Seedlings appear 21-42 days. Remove cover when seedings appear. When large enough transplant singly to 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions. Transplant 25cm apart in flowering position from summer onwards. Flowers May to August, generally the following year. TIP: Divide plants every few years to rejuvenate their leaf colour.
