A favourite among flowering plants, the Johnsons Dianthus Chinensis Chianti Seeds will add scent and colour to your garden. A short lived perennial, it is usually grown as an annual. Can be grown in beds, borders and containers to make the most of the eye-catching display. Indoor sowing: February to March, in trays of moist compost. Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at 15-20˚C. Keep moist. Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Grow on at 15˚C. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Then transplant 15cm apart in flowering position in June. Keep moist and weed free at all times. Flowers June to October, the same year.
