Grow a generous number of pods, each filled with sweet and tasty peas with Johnsons Pea Ruselago. A highly productive and easy picking, semi-leafless maincrop variety - the large crops are protected by strong disease resistance, especially to powdery mildew. Outdoor sowing: March to June, in a prepared seedbed, in flat drills 15cm wide and 5cm deep. Protect early sowings with cloches. Sow in a zig-zag pattern along the drill allowing 5cm between seeds. Space drills 60cm apart. Cover with 5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 10-18 days. Protect younger plants from birds with twigs or netting. Provide support with pea sticks or netting for easier picking, especially in windy locations. Keep moist and weed-free at all times. Harvest: Late May to September.
