Grow your own fresh chillies at home and add heat and colour to your culinary creations with this complete chilli seed starter kit. Kit includes three terracotta pots, one coir block, one bag of soil, three sachets of seeds Anaheim, jalapeno and serrano seeds. Place coir block into a container and add water. Allow coir to absorb the water for one hour. Add more water if needed. Mix the coir with the soil and then fill the pots with the moist growing medium mixture. Sow seeds evenly over the growing medium, lightly press the seeds down and gently cover over. Cover each pot with a plastic bag to create humidity and place the pots onto a warm sunny windowsill. Once seedlings emerge, remove bag and water regularly. The seedlings can be transplanted into larger pots of compost when large enough to handle. They are ideal for growing in pots on the kitchen windowsill or in a warm greenhouse. Sowing: Feb-April indoors. Transplant outdoors: May-Jul. Ideal temperature: 18 - 21°C. Chillies can be harvested once fruits have ripened from Jul to Oct. The longer a chilli has to grow, the hotter it will become.
