The paperweight is created using molten glass that is gathered and encased in clear glass. Once the shape is formed and the paperweight is cooled, the front of the paperweight is ground and polished creating a smooth facet. The blown White Heart is visible through the facet. Since 1963 and now under the stewardship of Dartington crystal, the team of skilled Caithness glass designers and craftsmen continue to explore and push the boundaries of glass making whilst embracing modern developments in technology to produce high quality paperweights that are recognised the world over as the market leader.
