This sweater features a high neck, long balloon sleeves with ribbed cuffs, a ribbed hem and a relaxed fit. All our organic cotton holds either a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or OCS (Organic Content Standard) certification. To earn a GOTS certificate the product must contain at least 95% organic cotton and for a OCS certificate the minimum is 50%. Regular cotton is a very resource-heavy material. With plants needing artificial irrigation and factories using a lot of water when dyeing and preparing the textiles - producing a normal t-shirt can end up using 2,500 litres of water. This is not the case with organic cotton. Using mostly rain water, no toxins and a more sustainable process, Textile Exchange states that organic cotton cuts the water need with up to 90%. It also saves the ecosystem and soil around the farms.
