The stretcher bars are made from heavy-duty solid pine, which is kiln-dried to provide extra protection against moisture, and has undergone rigorous testing to ensure it will not warp. Each canvas is primed with high-pigment gesso, providing the ideal levels of both tooth and absorbency. Winsor and Newton canvases are expertly pre-stretched by hand, so can be used immediately, but they also come with four Pro Stretcher Devices™ (with patent-pending technology) to enable easier, more precise control over canvas tension than ever before.
