An Absorbent Ground White 473ml from Golden is used to create a porous almost paper like surface on a range of different substrates. It\'s applied over gessoed canvas and allows for wash and staining effects on an acrylic film as opposed to staining a raw canvas. Watercolour mediums can also be applied however they will retain their natural sensitivity to water. Absorbent Ground is light, permanent and flexible and while it has a similar consistency to Gesso it is not intended to be an alternative to it. It\'s best applied over a porous surface such as Golden Gesso as this will guarantee proper adhesion due to the type of solids in the product.
