Silver Hen On Nest Boxed The lovely large  Hen on Nest  is a much nicer way to store your eggs than in the carton. She is decorated in a hand sponged stylized feather pattern in black on cream on her upper body and subtle yellow sponging on the base. Softly depicted yellow chicks nestle within her feathers. Kept in a cool place, your eggs will cook better than having been stored in the fridge, as they are less likely to ‘pop’ in the boiling water. This gorgeous ceramic hen is part of the  Toast & Marmalade  range by  Emma Bridgewater . She will grace any kitchen counter, and also makes a lovely wedding present or housewarming gift, (your new nest)! Matthew Rice has designed a chicken coop shaped box for the hen to travel in, with a pitched roof and hand drawn and coloured wooden panels and tiles. The box is printed with amusing drawings, covering the care of hens and types of feather marking. Toast and Marmalade Range The  Toast and Marmalade  designs are a combination of the  Black Toast  and  Marmalade  ranges by  Emma Bridgewater .  Marmalade  is a colourful design in vibrant yellow and orange on a cream background and looks wonderful when mixed with the austere cream and black typographical  Black Toast  pieces, also by Emma Bridgewater, in conjunction with her husband Matthew Rice, who designed the black lettering. In keeping with the Emma Bridgewater concept of mismatching patterns and colour to great effect, the  Toast and Marmalade  range combines the elegant black lettering of the  Black Toast  range with the zingy citrus imagery of the  Marmalade  range.
