This rum is packed with mouth watering flavours that include maple, chocolate, honey and toffee and presents a rich full-bodied taste that tapers off in to the classic rum finish. With 7 years ageing comes quite a lot of detail if you ask me- Offers golden syrup and black treacle. Some cocoa, spices. Bourbon smoke, char, vanilla on the nose. Whilst thepalate has a lovely dark chocolate/ Tiramisu feel to it. The finish is all about cocoa and creme brulee. Angostura Bitters were originally made by a surgeon, Dr Siegert, for his medical practice back in 1824. I doubt he had any inkling that the business would go on to change so radically- not only for the obvious reasons, but also the business would move from Venezuela to Trinidad some 50 years later.
