Multi Award winning and meticulously created, the whisky is aged in a mixture of American oak and ex Sherry casks which produce lovely dried fruit aromas and flavours. There is also a hint of spice in the form of Cinnamon. The palate feels gently and perfectly honeyed. ### Product Description We are now approaching nearly 200 years of being able to sample this most illustrious of Malts, albeit illegally for the first 2 years of its production back in 1824 when the distillery’s founder, George Smith, first started creating his Malt Whisky. He wasn’t alone making the most of their remoteness in creating illicit whisky then, but he was one of the first in Glenlivet to gain a licence following legislation changes in 1826.
