Perfectly symmetrical, architecturally sound and engineered to last for centuries, I am forever fascinated by the subterranean world of passageways, chambers and steps which provide access to the groundwaters below in arid regions. I love the silence and cool stone walls carved with beautiful elaborate details but the strongest image on my mind is the labyrinth of steps.
