Some of the mechanisms responsible for dry skin are determined by altered skin physiology. Many women or men use moisturizers to keep the skin soft, but it is now clear that creams can only work if the skin barrier is kept efficient. We present a brief summary of the main functions of skin physiology that aim to make people understand what was mentioned. We must first know that the skin is made up of four layers: the stratum corneum the epidermis with viable cells the dermis hypodermis The stratum corneum constitutes the outermost layer of the skin and is the first layer in contact with the topical products and undergoes modifications from these. It has the function of protecting cells, even lipids play a primary role in the formation and maintenance of the integrity of the underlying Epidermal Barrier function of the epidermis. The epidermis consists of three layers of keratinocytes: those of the basal layer, those of the thorny layer and those of the granulose layer. The dermis represents the great mass of the skin, the cellular component of the dermis is mainly composed of fibroblasts. The skin also plays an important immunological activity. The cutaneous immune system is made up of cutaneous dendritic cells (mainly Langerhans cells) specialized in the presentation of antigens to T cells that will induce an immune response and keratinocytes capable of producing a series of cytokines that will trigger an immediate inflammatory response. The cornea lamellae contain within them a family of scleroproteins called keratins that confer structural rigidity to the stratum corneum. The envelope of the cornea lamellae is made up of other proteins such as loricrin, involucrin and keratoyalins. All these proteins have numerous water bonds that retain or release depending on external needs and conditions. A right ratio between these proteins and water contributes to the elasticity of the lamellar system of the stratum corneum. Therefore it is clear that an excess of water or a defect can cause damage to the structure of proteins and therefore to the physiological maintenance of the stratum corneum. The Interlamellary Lipids They are produced by keratinocytes as well as keratins, and should not be confused with those produced by the sebaceous or sebum glands. The Interlamellary Lipids take this name because they are arranged around the cornea lamellae occluding the interstices. In this way they perform two important functions: that of preventing or adjusting the passages between the spaces left free of the slats and that of allowing the movement of the slats themselves. In other words, they act as elastic cement. Therefore a lack of lipids or their degradation due to the continuous use of common detergents or solvents, will certainly cause a form of desquamation. Ceramides are the most important lipids and are represented among the intercellular lipids. The Flow of Water The set of corneal lamellae and interlamellary lipids form a selective barrier. This barrier mainly regulates the passage of water through the epidermis or Trans Epidermal Water Loss Cornea Hydration CITOVIS CREMA, contrary to what can be imagined, guarantees the hydration of the constant stratum corneum, since it is already above the epidermal layer, and bathed in water. Because the stratum corneum is \"dehydrated\" it is necessary that all the proteins that have the function of binding the water or the lipids that hold it are altered or absent. In order to keep the stratum corneum moisturized, it is not only necessary to apply water from the outside with a simple \"moisturizing\" cream, but to repair the function of the specific barrier with cream. The rules for keeping the stratum corneum in order and preventing damage CITOVIS CREMA maintains and prevents damage, of the barrier function. The main cause of the destruction and barrier function, is the frequent use of common soaps and detergents that remove the fats of dirt, also damaging the Interlamellari Lipids, destroying them. Since the reconstruction of the Interlamellary Lipids is a slow process, with the daily washing it is possible to arrive at a state of alteration of the Barrier Function with an increase in water loss, dryness, desquamation, and sometimes itching. Women, children and the elderly are more sensitive to the action of soaps and detergents. Even Atopic Dermatitis, characterized by dry skin, worsens with continuous washing. CITOVIS CREMA is suitable for maintaining the order of the skin barrier that is ensured through the daily treatment of its application morning and evening, has been studied for every type of dermatological alteration that manifests itself with different forms of dryness and irritation of the face and neck and all those factors that determine poor protein and lipid efficiency. It gives energy to all cellular levels in the dermis, and induces the continuous intracellular formation of antioxidant and anti-radical protective molecules observed in research studies on the basic molecules that compose it, determining the effects of prevention of skin aging. CITOVIS CREMA is recommended for people with different levels of sensitivity, and nature of skin, does not contain GMO and is equipped with substances having natural and biodynamic anti-irritant properties extracted from the processing processes in full respect of the environment and human health. APPLICATIONS We recommend 2 applications after careful washing of the skin morning and evening, with a circular and gentle massage until completely absorbed.
