Nestle Health Science Novasource Diabet Plus Novasource Diabet Plus is the product designed by Nestle Health Science specifically designed for people with type I and II diabetes mellitus and for those suffering from hyperglycemia from stress or hypercholesterism, therefore requiring a greater amount of protein. In all these cases, attention to food must be maximized, for example by limiting the consumption of carbohydrates and by assuming the right amount of proteins, minerals and vitamins. Furthermore Novasource Diabet Plus is hyperlipidic and rich in soluble fibers; the glycemic index, on the contrary, is very low (27). This dietary food is indicated for enteral nutrition of diabetic or hyperglycemic patients with a high nutritional requirement. The high protein content is represented by milk proteins. The new formulation then follows the directives deriving from the most recent studies on diabetes, and is therefore free of fructose, replaced by tapioca starch. The product is also gluten-free and shows clinically irrelevant lactose. The intake of the food is done thanks to a tube; the product is packaged in an innovative bottle that acts as a bag and is equipped with a universal attachment. The recommended dose is 1500 ml, in case Diabet Plus is the only nutritional source, or 500 ml if used as a supplement, according to medical prescription.
